Ann Curry
Ann Curry, an American photographer and journalist who has covered wars and natural disasters for more than 45 years. She focuses on the human suffering suffered by people living in these regions. Curry has covered wars across the globe, and has reported on conflicts in Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Curry's parents met in Japan which is where her father had been stationed following World War II. Her father was a member of the military and her family moved around frequently. Curry finished highschool within Ashland Oregon. She graduated in 1978 in 1978 from her school at the University of Oregon with a bachelor's degree in journalism. Then, she was anchor and reporter at KGW located in Portland Oregon. After four years, she relocated to Los Angeles and became a reporter for KCBS TV.
